Cher from Clueless, my favorite movie!
Hey loves, how are ya? I hope your weekend has been better than mine was, I was moving into a new apartment and it was stressful and crazy busy! In the midst of a break while moving, I stumbled upon an article on cosmopolitan.com. The article basically says that being high maintenance is not a bad thing . For the longest time society has said that being high maintenance is bad thing and if we are, we have to hide it or change that. But, being high maintenance is just way of you having standards, knowing exactly what you want, and not settling for anything less than happiness. I will admit that I am high maintenance, and for the longest I did not want to admit it to myself or even people close to me. I have standards, I like luxurious things; whether that’s a more expensive coffee shop or a high end store. I know what I like and I don’t like to settle for my own happiness. I will say that I am not high maintenance when it comes to my relationships with people, I don’t expect my friends or people close to me to buy me expensive things. I expect it from myself and that’s probably because of my independent nature. My favorite quote from the article is : “Being high-maintenance doesn’t make me high-strung. Once I get what I want and therefore become happy (which is pretty often because I make it happen), I’m the most laid-back and chillest person ever”. That perfectly describes me.
So if you are high maintenance, flaunt it. Don’t let anyone shame you for it.
